Fujian Intensifies Exchanges with the Cambodian People's Party
An 18-member delegation of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) visited Fujian from November 11 to 14 at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Mr. Zhang Zhinan, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Fujian met with the delegation. Zhang provided the guests with an overview of Fujian-Cambodia relations and the just concluded 19th National Congress of the CPC. Both sides highlighted the enduring friendship between the two countries and two parties, and offered suggestions to expand bilateral cooperation in economy and trade, agriculture, science and technology.
The four-day trip brought the delegation members to urban planning exhibition halls, high-tech SMEs, universities, and villages with focus on green development, science and technology, and social governance. They also attended a symposium held by Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
Mr. Theng Pagnathun, Delegate of the Royal Government of Cambodia in charge of Director General of Planning, applauded Fujian’s socio-economic achievements. He noted that Cambodia has just outgrown a least developed country and graduated to lower-middle income status, and there is so much they can draw from Fujian's experience in economic and social development and personnel training.
