Vice Governor Li Meets with Israeli Consul General
On November 6, Vice Governor Li Dejin met with the visiting Israeli Consul General Nadav Cohen in Fuzhou.
Li extended a warm welcome to Mr. Cohen for his visit to Fujian again and updated him on the latest developments in the province. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, Fujian has maintained rapid economic growth, ranking seventh nationwide in terms of per capita GDP in 2016. As one of China’s first provinces open to the outside world, Fujian boasts export-oriented economy and extensive links with overseas Chinese and Taiwan compatriots of Fujian origin. Meanwhile, Israel has plenty of capital and world-leading technology and products. The two sides will embrace a brighter prospect for cooperation given the strong complementarities of the two economies.
The two sides pledged to expand bilateral trade and investment and deepen agricultural and technological cooperation to meet ever growing consumer demands in Fujian.
Mr. Cohen stated that China-Israel relationship has been enjoying a honeymoon period since the two countries established an innovative comprehensive partnership. The Consulate values its cooperation with Fujian and is willing to seek more opportunities in technological cooperation.
During his trip, the Consul General visited China-Israel Demonstration Farm.
