African journalists visit Fujian
At the invitation of Foreign Ministry, 16 journalists from 14 media in Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Botswana, Mozambique and Namibia visited Fujian between December 17 and 22, 2015. This visit is an extension of President Xi Jinping’s December visit to Africa. The aim of the delegation’s visit is to get first hand views on the core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk so that the journalists can have a better understanding of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as China’s enormous changes and charms. In addition, through their reports, the African people can learn more about China.
Fujian is the second leg of the delegation’s visits to China. Fujian Foreign Affairs Office made a thoughtful arrangement for the visit. The journalists not only enjoyed Fujian profound history and culture as well as beautiful scenery, but also learned about the province’s economic and social development and industrial strengths, particularly the core area of the Maritime Silk Road and the planning of Fujian Pilot FTZ.
