Fujian Strengthens Exchanges and Cooperation with Vietnam's Quang Ninh Province
A 24-member delegation headed by Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Vietnam’s Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, visited Fujian during December 18-23.
On December 19, Vice Governor Yang Xianjin met with the delegation in Fuzhou. He updated them on the 19th CPC National Congress and the latest development of Fujian, and reviewed exchanges between the two provinces over the years. The two sides agreed to advance cooperation in trade, tourism, education, and sister-city relationship. After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of the documents for furthering exchanges and cooperation between the two provinces’ tourism authorities, capital cities, and universities.
Earlier that day, 50 people gathered for a networking event designed for tourism operators and business owners from both sides to meet each other and form business relationships. The event was sponsored by Fujian Foreign Affairs Office to connect local companies with global players.
In Xiamen, Vice Mayor Han Jingyi exchanged views with the delegation on expanding cooperation in tourism, trade, and education between his city and Ha Long City.
The delegation visited Minjiang University and Jimei University. Officials of the two universities discussed with them about potential cooperation on program of visiting scholars and students, scientific research, information sharing, and disciplines such as tourism and acquaculture. Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy hoped that an MoU on cooperation could be signed between Ha Long University and Jimei University in the future.
The delegation also visited Southeast Shipping Center and Wuyi Star Company, and toured several scenic spots to seek tourism cooperation.
