ASEAN Diplomatic Delegation Visits Fujian

A diplomatic delegation visited Fuzhou and Xiamen, Fujian from November 5 to 8, 2015. The delegation consisted of diplomats stationed in ASEAN headquarters from Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos.  

Deputy Director General Wang Tianmin of Fujian Foreign Affairs Office met with the delegation at Fuzhou. DDG Wang briefed about the latest development of Fujian as the core area of the Maritime Silk Road, and Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone as well. He highlighted the time-honored friendly exchanges between Fujian and ASEAN countries. DDG Wang’s introduction gave the diplomats a better understanding of cooperation between Fujian and ASEAN. The head of the delegation said that China’s rapid economic development impressed the whole world. The China-ASEAN cooperation has delivered great benefits to the two sides. He hoped that besides relatively developed ASEAN economies such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, China can pay more attention to countries like Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos.  

During their stay in Fujian, the diplomats visited Xiamen Southeast International Shipping Center, Xiamen International Container Terminal, Service Center of Xiamen Area of Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone, China-ASEAN Marine Product Exchange, Kornerstone Materials Co., Ltd., Gulang Islet in XIamen and Three Lanes and Seven Alleys in Fuzhou.
